appreciate their dedication, but this constant, hidden dedication of the parents exists all the same, and the child benefits from it. It is the same situation for humans as regards the Blessed Virgin. From the very moment Mary became the Mother of God, She exercised Her role as Mediatrix on behalf of men. No soul has ever been sanctified without Her intercession, for the Blessed Virgin adopted all of humanity in advance, and She has always interceded for each one of Her children, even those who have not had recourse to Her. A mother does not wait for her child to call upon her before coming to his assistance. If she sees that he needs anything, she hastens to help him. Spontaneously, she mends the clothes he has torn. And if she sees an object anywhere that might hurt him, at once she goes to remove it without the child’s asking her to.
