Magnificat Magazine July-August 2016, Special Edition, 64 pages on the Life of Saint Louis Mary Grignion de Montfort – tricentennial of his death
On April 28, 1716, at Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre, France, Saint Louis Mary Grignion de Montfort, passed away. He is a Doctor of the Church and an incomparable -Apostle of the Virgin Mary. This great Saint – who is unfortunately not very well known – was a champion of the glory of God. “What do I ask of You, my God? Nothing for myself, everything for Your glory!” he cried in a fiery prayer. As Prophet of the Apostles of the Latter Times and special Protector of the Order of the Mother of God, we owe him our homage on the occasion of the tricentennial of his death.
He fought for Christ. Saint Louis Mary de Montfort knew that he had received the mission to combat the world and the devil, his pomps and his works, in order to establish and extend the reign of Jesus and Mary. He was faithful to this glorious role, and he accomplished it wonderfully. Everywhere he went, people regarded him as the envoy of God and the enemy of Satan.
