On May 13, 1917, at Fatima in Portugal, the Virgin Mary appeared for the first time to three young shepherd children, Lucia dos Santos, Francesco and Jacinta Marto. I come from heaven, the Virgin said, and I want you to come here on the 13th of every month for six months… She promised that on the 13th of October, She would make a miracle so that everyone may believe. On that day, a crowd of 70,000 people witnessed the miracle of the dance and the fall of the sun, an inexplicable wonder that lasted about ten minutes. This was the great miracle of the promise which was fulfilled precisely as to the day, time and place predicted in advance. This undeniable Sign should impel men to believe in the reality of the Apparitions and obey the Message given by the Blessed Virgin for the salvation of the world and the Church.
It is not the Church that imposed Fatima on the faithful. It is Fatima that imposed itself on the Church, declared Cardinal Manuel Gonçalves Cerejeira, the Patriarch of Lisbon, on the occasion of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Apparitions, October 31, 1942.
Fatima is still as relevant as ever!…
To mark the centenary of the Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, a special day was organized at the Monastery of the Apostles in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. Prayers, Rosaries, hymns, meditations, exhortations filled the day of Saturday, May 13, 2017, to honor the Virgin of Fatima and to recall Her messages and Her pressing call to prayer and penance for the conversion of sinners.
The photos show a few moments of the procession made at the Monastery of the Magnificat. The Religious of the Order of the Magnificat of the Mother of God were accompanied by many of our faithful and friends.
A generous benefactor from Toronto provided hundreds of roses and flowers that adorned the main chapel of the Monastery as well as the outdoor altars. These roses are the emblem of the thousands of “Hail Mary”s and Rosaries, recited since the beginning of this year all dedicated to celebrate our good Mother of Heaven.
May the Christians of the whole world answer the requests of Our Lady of Fatima, to say many Rosaries.
“My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that leads you to God.”
(Our Lady of Fatima to Lucy)
“Our Lord said to me a few days ago: ‘I most ardently desire the propagation of the cult and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, because Her Heart is the magnet that attracts souls to Me, the fire that radiates the rays of My light and My love over the earth, the inexhaustible source that pours forth the living waters of My mercy upon the earth.’”
(Sister Lucy of Fatima – May 27, 1943)
