To Prepare for a good Death

Evening Prayer My God, I know I will die; perhaps I have only a few moments to live. Perhaps I will not get out of the bed where I will lie tonight, so You warn me to enter it as if I were in my tomb. I know, Lord, that at the hour of my death I would like to have lived without sin and to have always loved You. Put me now in these holy dispositions. Yes, my God, I hate sin, I believe all that the Church teaches me, I put all my hope in You, I want to live and die in Your love. I commend to You my soul which has cost You so much, O my God. Do not allow the precious Blood You shed for it to be useless. Blessed Virgin, Mother of my God, my Mother and my Patroness, my good Guardian Angel, my Patron Saint, all the Saints of Paradise, intercede for me, pray for me, during this night, all the time of my life and especially at the hour of my death. I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended. And through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of poor sinners.

To the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary

for the Conversion of sinners Sacred Heart of Jesus! who burns with such ardent love for men, and who is so little loved by them, how can I, through my fervor, console You for the ingratitude of all these sinful Christians! Will Your Heart, always tender and compassionate, always be broken with pain at the sight of the evils Your children bring upon themselves by their disorders and crimes? I know, O my Saviour! You love to be implored for sinners, because it was for them that You abased Yourself and resigned Yourself to all the humiliations of Your life and to the torments of Your Passion, because You want them to be converted and to live. However guilty I may be, I confidently approach the throne of Your mercies, firmly hoping that You will not reject my prayers for these unfortunate souls. Sacred Heart of Jesus, have pity on sinners, touch their hardened hearts, open their eyes blinded by their passions, make them see the abyss into which they are plunging. Grace, grace, O my God! suspend Your wrath. Mercy, Lord, mercy! Are not sinners Your children? O my God, do not abandon them, and since the blood of Your Son has been shed for them, let it not be in vain. Receive, in expiation for their crimes, the sufferings of Jesus, the prayers, the good works, the communions of so many fervent Christians, to which I unite myself with all the power of my soul. I want to live only to love You, happy if I could die of love for You, and compensate You for the coldness of so many Christians, who do not love You, because they do not know You. O Immaculate Heart of Mary! Heart of this august Virgin whom the Church rightly calls the Refuge and Advocate of sinners, join Your supplications to my feeble prayers to do holy violence to the Heart of Jesus. O Mary! I place my requests in Your Heart, deign to present them to the sovereign Judge, to Him whom You bore in Your virginal womb, to Him whose sublime virtues You imitated so well, to Him whom You loved so much, and I am at peace in the sweet hope that they will be granted. Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima Motherly refuge, O Queen of the universe and Mediatrix between God and men, Mother of love, of sorrows and of mercy, consolation and refuge of all our hopes, although Your heart is broken by so many scorns and outrages, You still deign to be propitious to us. Obtain for us, unworthy and ungrateful sons, we beg You with great faith and filial trust, the grace to be delivered from the sins that kill souls and lead the world to ruin. To Mary, help of sinners

In His name and by His merits, have mercy on us poor sinners, because we repent and have recourse to Your infinite mercy. Let Yourself be touched, and have mercy on us for we are His heritage. O Lord, do not violate the covenant You have made: to answer the prayers Your children address to You. It is true that by our great iniquities we have offended Your justice, but You, my God, who are good by nature, let the greatness of Your infinite mercy shine forth. O Lord, if You would heed our iniquities, who could stand before You? Lord, we confess it: we are very guilty and it is our sins that have brought these scourges upon us. But You, Lord, who have willed that every day we call You Our Father, look now at the great affliction of Your children, and spare us from such great calamities. Spare us, my God, by the merits of Jesus Christ, by the love You have for Yourself; by the love of the Virgin Mary “our Mother”, forgive us! Remember, O Lord, that we are called Your people, have mercy on human folly. Send a ray of Your divine light to dispel the darkness of our intelligence, and may our amended souls change their ways and no longer steep the Heart of their God in bitterness! O Lord, only the hand of Your infinite mercy can save us from so many calamities. O Lord, we are reeling with inner and outer afflictions, have mercy on us! Turn away, O Lord, Your face from our sins and look upon Jesus Christ who has given You satisfaction by suffering and dying for us, for He is Your Son! Thus we will celebrate Your infinite mercy. Hasten, Lord, to answer us, otherwise our courage will be much lessened, for we have fallen into such a wretched state! Hasten, Lord, to show us Your mercy, for we have no hope but in You alone, who are our Father, our Creator, and who must preserve and save those who are Yours forever.
