Litany in honor of the Holy Face
by Sister Mary of Saint Pierre
I
praise
You,
I
adore
You
and
I
love
You,
O
Jesus,
my
Beloved,
noble
seal
of
the
Divinity;
I
apply
myself
to
You
with
all
the
powers
of
my
soul,
and
most
humbly
beg
You
to
imprint
in us all the traits of Your divine likeness.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.
God the Father of Heaven, have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us.
God the Holy Ghost, have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, one God, have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
who
was
adored
with
profound
reverence
by
Mary
and
Joseph,
when
they saw You for the first time,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
who
delighted
the
angels,
shepherds
and
Magi
in
the
stable
of
Bethlehem,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
who
wounded
with
a
stroke
of
love,
in
the
temple,
the
elder
Simeon
and
Anne the prophetess,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, who was bathed in tears in Your holy infancy,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
who
filled
with
admiration
the
doctors
of
the
law,
when
they
saw
You
in
the temple at the age of twelve,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, white with purity, vivid with charity,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
more
beautiful
than
the
sun,
more
graceful
than
the
moon,
more
radiant than the stars,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, more precious than gold, silver and diamonds,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, whose features were ravishing and whose graces charming,
have mercy on us.

have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, contemplated by Angels,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, the sweet delight of the Saints,
have mercy on us.

adorable
Face,
masterpiece
of
the
Holy
Spirit,
in
whom
the
Eternal
Father
placed
His
complacency,
have mercy on us.

have mercy on us.

have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, scorched by the sun and bathed in sweat during journeys,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, whose expression is all divine,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
whose
modesty
and
meekness
attracted
the
righteous
and
sinners
alike,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, who would give a holy kiss to children after blessing them,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, troubled and weeping at the tomb of Lazarus,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, shining like the sun and radiant with glory on Mount Tabor,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
saddened
at
the
sight
of
Jerusalem
and
shedding
tears
over
that
ungrateful city,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
lowered
to
the
ground
in
the
Garden
of
Olives
and
bearing
the
confusion of our sins,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, covered with the sweat of blood,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, kissed by the perfidious Judas,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
whose
holiness
and
majesty
seized
the
soldiers
with
terror
and
overthrew them,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
struck
by
an
infamous
servant,
covered
with
a
veil
of
ignominy
and
profaned by the sacrilegious hands of Your enemies,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, soiled with spittle and bruised by so many slaps and blows,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
whose
divine
gaze
wounded
the
heart
of
Saint
Peter
with
a
stab
of
pain
and love,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, humiliated for us in the courts of Jerusalem,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
who
preserved
Your
serenity
when
Pilate
pronounced
the
fatal
judgment,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
covered
in
sweat
and
blood,
falling
in
the
mud
under
the
burden
of
the
cross,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, deserving of all our respect, homage and adoration,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, wiped with a veil by a pious woman on the road to Calvary,

O adorable Face, which became like that of a leper,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
whose
incomparable
beauty
was
obscured
under
the
awful
clouds
of
the sins of the world,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, covered with the sad shadows of death,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, perfumed by Mary and the holy women and covered with a shroud,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, enclosed in the sepulchre,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, who deigned to imprint Yourself on the holy shroud,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, resplendent in glory and beauty on the day of the Resurrection,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, dazzling with light at the moment of Ascension,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, hidden in the Eucharist,
have mercy on us.
O
adorable
Face,
who
will
appear
at
the
end
of
time
in
the
air,
with
great
power
and
majesty,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, who will make sinners tremble and will fill the righteous with joy,
have mercy on us.
O adorable Face, who in Heaven will be the eternal rapture of the Saints,
have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world,
Spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world,
Christ graciously spare us.
Lamb of God who takest away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.
Act of Reparation
I greet Thee, I adore Thee and I love Thee, O Jesus my Saviour, covered with new outrages
by blasphemers, and I offer Thee, in the Heart of the divine Mary, as incense and a sweet-
smelling perfume, the homages of the Angels and of all the Saints, humbly beseeching
Thee, by the virtue of Thy Holy Face, to repair and restore in me and in all men, Thy
image disfigured by sin. Amen.
