Litany of the Holy Will of God

If it is important to know the Will of God, it is especially so when we are dealing with something that has a more direct bearing on eternal salvation, and particularly so when choosing a state of life, a decision that must have either the most happy or the most terrible consequences. God, in the dispositions of His Providence, attaches His graces and blessings to certain states, to certain jobs, to certain undertakings, and He gives them only insofar as we embrace the states, take the jobs, do the undertakings to which He has attached them. If, then, against His will, we embark on other paths out of caprice or passion, we shall not find this help, and not finding it, left to ourselves, what can we expect but a succession of perpetual misguidance, mortal anxiety and inevitable misfortune for time and eternity? Nothing, then, is more necessary for the repose of our conscience than to know and follow the Will of God. Lord, have mercy on us. / Christ, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us. / Christ, graciously hear us. Lord, have mercy on us. / Christ, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us. / Christ, hear us. Christ, graciously hear us. / Christ, graciously hear us. God the Father of Heaven, may Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. God the Son, Redeemer of the world, may Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. God the Holy Ghost, may Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Adorable Holy Trinity, one God, may Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Will of God, infinitely holy, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, infinitely just, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, infinitely perfect, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, infinitely righteous, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, impenetrable in Thy decrees, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, infinitely adorable, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, all-powerful, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, who does all things with wisdom, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, eternal occupation of the Saints, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, nourishment of all righteous souls, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, the love of faithful hearts, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, who gives price to all things, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, the measure of merit and the price of our works, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, the joy and delight of our souls, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, our strength and security, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, our consolation and rest, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, the remedy for our ills and the sorrows of this life, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, our hope and comfort in death, sovereignly rule over us. Will of God, whose reign is our unique end, our salvation, our happiness, sovereignly rule over us. Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, spare us, O Lord. Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, graciously spare us. Lamb of God who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us. / Christ, hear us. Christ, graciously hear us. / Christ, graciously hear us. Let Us Pray Lord, almighty God, supremely good and infinitely wise, by the merit of the perfect submission with which Jesus Christ our Saviour accepted the chalice of His Passion, and Mary His divine Mother, as well as Joseph, Thy faithful servant, were always obedient to Thy orders; grant us the grace to fulfill in all things, and until the last moment of our lives, Thy most holy, most just and most adorable Will, as it is fulfilled in Heaven. Amen.
