A story for every day...
A touching prayer answered.
A few weeks ago, a young girl from the house of the Holy Heart of Mary saw with sorrow the day approaching when she would be forced to leave her beloved solitude to enter the world. The sight of the dangers she would have to face made her dread the hour of separation, and she begged the Lord to call her back to Himself if He foresaw that her virtue would make a sad shipwreck. She even made a novena for this intention and begged several of her friends to join their prayers to hers. Almost immediately she experienced a slight illness, and although the illness did not seem serious, people were thinking, albeit with a smile, of the effect of the novena she had started. Soon the young woman was obliged to go to bed, and two days later she died, in the presence of her companions, before anyone suspected the seriousness of her condition. Heaven had granted the touching prayer of this pious child of Mary.
