MAGNIFICAT

The Order of the Magnificat of the Mother of God has a special purpose the preservation of the Deposit of Faith through religious education in all its forms. God has established him as a bulwark against the almost general apostasy which has invaded Christendom and in particular the Roman Church.

A story for every day...

Our Lady of the Rosary

A most precious gown.

One day, says the blessed Mary of the Angels, as I was approaching the holy table, I suddenly felt filled with such sweetness that I seemed to be in heaven in body and soul. The Blessed Virgin appeared to me at that moment: She was so beautiful, so resplendent, that I could not look at Her; I was dazzled by Her radiance. She was holding in Her hands a white dress, but of a whiteness quite different from that seen on earth. This gown was adorned with a multitude of precious stones, such as cannot be found on earth either. The Divine Mother told me that She had it ready to put it on me as soon as I had stripped from myself, and that the good of my soul demanded that I should still be condemned to struggle and to buy victory at the cost of great fatigue. She recommended that I should often have recourse to Her intercession and address these words to Her, “At Thy feet, O my sweetest Sovereign! I wish to live and die.” She promised me protection and help, aroused in me a lively love of virtue, especially of humility and obedience, and left me filled with peace and consolation.
Let us learn from this to always seek our sanctification in the worship we give to Our Lady of the Rosary. Let us not be content with praying to her, meditating on her joys, sorrows and glories, but above all let us imitate her virtues, her self-denial, her spirit of sacrifice which makes us die to ourselves and practice humility, obedience, mortification, patience, gentleness and charity. At this price, the devotional practices we honor our Mother with will be of great use to us. They will help us to overcome ourselves, to become purer, more detached, more friends of prayer and more united to God. And what merits will we not acquire in this way? We will receive from Mary a precious robe, such as the one the Blessed One of whom we have just spoken prepared for her.

Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, and of the Mother of God. Amen.

Preparatory Prayer

O Jesus! We are going to walk with You on the road to Calvary which was so painful for You. Make us understand the greatness of Your sufferings, touch our hearts with tender compassion at the sight of Your torments, in order to increase in us the regret of our faults and the love we wish to have for You.
Deign to apply to all of us the infinite merits of Your Passion, and in memory of Your sorrows, show mercy to the souls in Purgatory, especially to those who are most abandoned.
O Divine Mary, who first taught us to make the Way of the Cross, obtain for us the grace to follow Jesus with the sentiments Your Heart was filled with as You accompanied Him on the road to Calvary. Grant that we may weep with You, and that we may love Your divine Son as You do. We ask this in the name of His adorable Heart. Amen.
