Excellence of the devotion to Our Lady of Seven Sorrows.
Father Roviglione, of the Society of Jesus, reports that a young man had the devotion of visiting every day an image of Mary, Mother of Sorrows, whose Heart was pierced with seven swords. One night, he had the misfortune to fall into mortal sin, and when he went to visit the holy image in the morning, he noticed that there were eight swords instead of seven. While he was busy looking at this wonder, he heard a voice telling him that it was his sin that had added this eighth sword to the Heart of Mary. At the same moment, moved and filled with repentance, he went to confession and recovered the grace of God through the intercession of his powerful Advocate.
