There was, he says, in one of the tribes I evangelize, a little girl of twelve years of age, who was ill and who, feeling that she was dying, asked for baptism. They hastened to comply with her wishes; and when she had been baptized, the young child began to recite her prayers; then she was singing a hymn, when suddenly, stopping, she cried out, “Oh, how beautiful! I hear the voice of Mary my Mother calling me.” Saying these words she expires, and her pure soul flies away to follow the Queen of Heaven.
