Let Us Pray the Rosary
Short Meditations
Prayers before the Rosary
- We start by making piously the Sign of the Cross, which is the Sign of the Christian:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, and of the Mother of God. Amen.
- Offering of the Rosary
O Mary, who knows how to effectively console the afflicted souls on earth, have pity on the poor souls who are imprisoned in the place of atonement, far from heaven. They are deprived of the sight of God and suffer greatly. Poor souls, they are also deprived of Your sight, O You who are their Mother.
These souls beg Your help, O Mary. They call to You as little children call to their mother. They yearn to reach out to You, but the weight of their sins holds them back, for “nothing unclean can enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Blessed and holy Virgin, by the merits of the Resurrection and Ascension, by the Descent of the Holy Spirit, by Your glorious Assumption and Coronation, obtain that all souls come out of Purgatory, shining and pure as Jesus came out of the tomb, and ascend to heaven, radiant as You Yourself have ascended. I especially commend to You my relatives and friends. To all, obtain eternal rest in paradise. Amen.
- The Symbol of the Apostles
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Church of Jesus Christ, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
- One Our Father (Prayer taught by Jesus Christ to His Apostles)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
- Three Hail Mary’s (Angelical Salutation)
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee; blessed art Thou among women, and blessed is Thy Son, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, pray for us, sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
- One Glory Be to the Father
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, and to the Mother of God. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Glorious Mysteries – For the relief and deliverance of Souls in Purgatory.
First Mystery: The Resurrection of Jesus
Fruit of the mystery: a practical Faith to recognize the hand of God in every detail of our life.
Let us remember that the resurrection of Jesus Christ must be for us and for all sinners the beginning of a new life.
O Jesus, strike sinners with a bright and victorious light, give them a grace so powerful that they will have only one ambition: to love you and save their souls. I ask you this grace through the intercession of Your divine Mother.

Fruit of the mystery: A great desire for Heaven, our only homeland.
Let us adore Jesus Christ ascending to heaven, and let us long for that fortunate abode. Courage, suffering and faithful souls! A few more moments of pain and suffering, and the crown is yours.
O Mary, my Sovereign and my Mother, accompany me always on my earthly journey, which lasts only a moment. I want to love You and serve Your Son every day of my life, so that I may be happy with You for all eternity.

Let us contemplate the wonders that took place in the hearts of the Apostles on the day of Pentecost, and let us pray to the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love, our minds with His wisdom, our souls with His holiness.
May the Blessed Virgin Mary, worthy Spouse of the Holy Spirit, grant us the grace to correspond faithfully to God’s inspirations.

Prayers after the Rosary
Hail, Holy Queen!
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy. our life, our sweetness and our hope! To Thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To Thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears! Turn, then, O most gracious Advocate, Thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
- Pray for us, O holy Mother of God,
- That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us Pray. O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain, and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, and of the Mother of God. Amen.
